BlogExplosion has been sold again
BlogExplosion has found a new owner. According to the email I’ve received today, the new owners are a large group that has extensive blogging backgrounds. This sale is not because they are slowing down but they wish of the owner wanted to find a company that can take BlogExplosion to the next level. Here are some quick facts about Blog Explosion:
- BE is approaching 50,000 members
- They have served 22 million visits via surfing blogs and millions of others across the site
- BE signs up on average 100-150 new members per day
- BlogExplosion has over 1 million listings in Google
- They are ranked #4714 on Alexa and trending in the right direction
- They are listed 1st in Yahoo and 4th in Google for the search term blog traffic.
BlogExplosion’s auction was held at SitePoint (auction website) with the starting price $50,000. I’m pretty interested about the history of BlogExplosion. BlogExplosion was started in October 2004 as a simple traffic exchange and blog directory. Today, it is the largest blog communities on the internet. I’ve learnt a lesson. If you have a new idea, don’t hesitate to make it into reality. Don’t wait for the others. The easiest way to success is coming up with great and interesting idea. Maybe your idea is not really accepted today, but who knows what might happen for the next five years. Another great example is Yahoo. Yahoo was started in February 1994 as a collection of hyperlinks containing from favourite links to doctoral dissertations to be used by Stanford University’s students.
